Jesus…The Beginning And End

Jesus is the beginning and end of all that matters. In fact, all that matters is Jesus. God’s purpose for all of us is to conform us to the image of Christ. This happens through various circumstances and different means but the outcome for all will be the same: Christ.

13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters; Romans 8:29

The goal in life is simply to be obedient to God as Christ was obedient. Knowing and doing God’s will is at the apex of every Christian’s desires. This will only be accomplished as I am conformed to Christ’s death.

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; Philippians 3:10

I can only accomplish God’s will in my life as Christ is formed in me; by becoming less He becomes more.

30 He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30

As I die to myself, He lives. From birth to death, the goal is Christ in me, which alone is my only hope.

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

…the mystery that is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

May God continue to form Christ in me and be glorified. He is the beginning and end of all that I am and only in Him will I be made complete.

and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over every ruler and authority; Colossians 2:10

We proclaim Him, admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ. Colossians 1:28
