“Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.”

Jesus was surround by people most of the time. Many wanted different things from Him. Was that wrong? Some wanted to use Him to get what they wanted. Some wanted to try to disprove who He said He was. But there were those who truly loved Him and wanted to learn from Him and perhaps even thought they could be like Him in certain ways. Those were His disciples.
The disciples made sure to be close. They didn’t let anyone else take their spots closest to Him so that they could catch every word of a sermon or parable. When it came to things they didn’t understand, they had an inside track to getting explanations because they were His disciples.
How about you? When you need answers, who do you go to? Is your first option Jesus? Or someone else?
What does it take to supplant your place close to Jesus?
When you don’t understand what God is doing in your life do you trust or doubt? Do you await His answers or fill in your own blanks?
Jesus was always ready and willing to give insight to His disciples. Sometimes the only way to get it is to draw closer and listen.
