Passage:
“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”
Psalms 103:12 NLT

Paraphrase:
The sins we have committed have been separated from us as far as one side of the world is from the other.
Premise:
We are forgiven of our sins by God through Jesus’ blood whichbwas shed on the cross. When we confess our sin to God and believe God has raised Jesus from the dead, then we are saved according to 1 John 1:9. God has made the final payment of sin for us through the death of His son. We don’t have to deal with sin on our own and this is something to truly be thankful for in our lives.
Principle:
God removes our sins from us through the blood of Jesus.
Ponder:
How far is the east from the west?
How has God provided covering the penalty for our sin?
What affect has sin had on us? What affect did it have on Jesus?
How did Jesus overcome it and what does that mean for us?
Am I carrying my sin or have I accepted what God has done for me and given thanks?
Promise:
He has removed our sins from us and will not count them against us, those who have believed in Jesus’ sacrifice.
Practice:
Confess sins to God and allow Him to forgive me.
Live in light of the forgiveness afforded me through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for the forgiveness made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Thank you that my sin has been taken far, far away and I don’t have to live in it. You have been so kind and generous to forgive, restore and remove the sin from me. Thank you for doing what I couldn’t do myself!
