Paraphrase

The rainy season came and the flood waters rose, high winds and tornadoes blew through and yet the house was unaffected because it was built on a stronger foundation.

Premise:

Storms in life are going to come and they will test what you have built your life upon. Some of those storms will be tougher than others but each of them will test a different part of your structure. Some will batter the roof, while others may affect the windows but a life house built on the foundation of Christ will always remain.

Principle:

Our lives will be tested in life’s storms.

A house built on faith is Christ will withstand life’s storms.

There is only one foundation strong enough to withstand all of life’s storms: Jesus Christ.

Ponder:

How do life’s storms affect you?

How are you building you life house on Christ?

Are you building on a foundation other than Christ?

Practice:

When storms come, praise God because He is going to show Himsef strong.

Continue to build upon Christ as my foundation through reading and prayer.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, Thank you for being my Rock and Foundation. Thank you that you are my strength in the storm, my Anchor that holds. Help me to weather the storms of life and maybyou sustain my Life-House.
