Needs or Wants?

Passage:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Paraphrase:

The Lord is a good shepherd; there’s nothing I’ll need that He won’t supply to me.

Premise:

Sometimes in life it can seem we are in want for so many things. The “wants” overtake the “needs”. Yet as a good shepherd, The Lord promises to ensure we have the things we “need” in order to live and thrive for His Kingdom work. He will supply the things we need to do the work He is leading us to do. He will supply the funds, the people, the energy etc.; everything we need we will have to do His will and fulfill His purpose.

Principle:

Whatever I need, the Lord will provide.

There is a difference between wants and needs.

Promise:

God will lead and supply for my needs.

Practice:

Be aware of how I use the word “need”.

Bring all my wants and needs to Jesus and then let Hom give me what I need for this time.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, you are my shepherd and a good one at that. The only one I need, in fact. I pray that you would help me to be aware of your presence and your provision; that Inwould be satisfied and content in all you give me for that is all Inneed at the given time. Thank you that you have promised to meet all my needs and you have also given me so many of my wants. Help me to also be like you in being generous and joining in meeting others needs.
