“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”

Paraphrase:
I don’t have to fear anything regardless of where I am even if it’s near deaths door because The Lord is with me. He’s my guiding Light, my strength and protector in the darkest of life’s moments.
Premise:
The Lord has promised to be with me regardless of how things seem. In life there are mountains and valleys and the Lord is present in both. The darkest valleys are the ones that lead to places unknown like the brink of death. Yet the Lord has been there and returned with His same power over death and life. He is the One who is with me. There’s nothing I will face that is too great or strong for Him. A shadow can’t hurt me and that’s all death is. My task in life is to stay focused on the Light because then I won’t even notice the shadows.
Principle:
The Lord is with me even in the hardest of times.
The Lord provides instruction, guidance and comfort in unsettling times.
The Lord protects us even when we are unaware of all the surrounding dangers.
Promise:
The Lord will be with me through life’s most difficult times.
The Lord has promised to walk with me and protect me, instruct me and comfort me.
Practice:
Acknowledge God’s presence and protection.
Focus on the Light and not the shadows of life.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for the promises you’ve made to always be with me even in the most difficult of times. Thank you for the protection you have given me especially when I wasn’t aware of all that was going on. Thank you for watching out for me when others were trying to take advantage and undermine me. Thank you for the comfort of your correction and protection all the days of my life.
