Plodding Forward

…in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses.
2 CORINTHIANS 6:4

Every step isn’t easy. Sometimes you will have to grab your pants leg and put your foot forward. There won’t always be sunny days (2 Corinthians 6:4-10). On the days when the rain is pouring, keep your eyes of faith on the risen Christ (Hebrews 12:1-4). He has overcome and therefore you will too. The drudgery of today doesn’t have to keep you from the overcoming life. It’s all about how you choose to look at the next step. (Philippians 3:13-14).The step can be forward if nothing else. It can be faithful if nothing else. It can be obedient if nothing else. And that next step can lead to victory once all the others are added up (Philippians 2:14-16).

Some steps forward will require you to move downward. Showing humility and taking steps that others won’t take is what will make you a better Christian (Philippians 2:5-8). Someone once said: God’s best gifts are on the bottom and only those who are willing to stoop can have them”. Service and serving others is how Christ chose to identify with us (John 13:14-16). In turn that is how we are to best identify with Him and show Him to the world.
