“If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.””

How tightly are you holding onto what you have? It’s possible to go through life obtaining everything we think is valuable and then when Jesus asks for it, we are unwilling to let it go. We’ve forgotten that everything we own and obtain comes from Him (James 1:17). When God gives us something it’s not just for us to enjoy but also for Him to employ if He so desires. This is why we must hold on loosely.
The Lord blesses us in order to be a blessing, not to hoard items for ourselves. When something comes to you, you have to be ready to let go of it also. Everything in this life is temporary and transient. Nothing here will last forever. Therefore when the Lord has “need of it”, it may often be to test our resolve to let it go. What has been given to us has been on loan that at the right time we may not only be a blessing to another but also to the Lord for how we trust Him.
Is there something that the Lord is asking you to let Him use?
What would be difficult for you to let go of?
How could you be a blessing to another?
