“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”

The fact that each of us will have to stand and give an account to God for our lives is a sobering reality. Knowing that every little detail and thought will be accounted for should be enough to cause us all to judge ourselves properly before that day. Yet somehow we forget or ignore that it is an impending day that will eventually arrive. God doesn’t want us to fear every move we make but He does want us to live each moment intentionally and purposefully. Accountability in the end helps us make the most and best judgement calls now.
The better we judge ourselves now the less we have to concern ourselves with then. Bringing every thought and deed to the obedience of Christ is what we all must strive for. Let us be careful of judging others by our standards or any standard. We are not judges of anyone but ourselves. Many end up holding others to a standard they themselves do not keep. Jesus isn’t concerned about how we compare to one another but how we compare to Christ.
How often do you judge others?
Are you looking to justify yourself and your actions?
How are you measuring up to Jesus?
