I’ve been looking over this passage for a few days. One of the things that stood out to me is that I have to control what I “meditate” on. It needs to be the Law of the Lord, His Word. That will lead to maturity and much fruit. When that happens I will be multiplying in season and the things of God will prosper in my life.
Where I’m planted will affect what I produce.
The blessed man is one who knows who to avoid and who to associate with. He doesn’t stand, sit or stroll with the wrong people. Instead he is seeded near a river, where he is nourished and nurtured in the Word. Where you’re planted affects what you produce.
Production of fruit is in season. There isn’t rushing in production. Multiplying takes time; it takes maturing. Whatever nature you nurture will be revealed in the fruit.
The blessed man is the one who is favored. However this favor is reflected in the “outcome” not the selection of the man. We all make choices and those choices affect the consequences. When we choose the right path, the ways of the Lord, meditating on the Word, The Law of The Lord, we benefit from those “laws”. The Lord rewards those laws with “favor” because He treasures His Word. When we treasure His Word, it blesses our lives and produces fruit that remains. Meditating on God’s Word will lead to maturing in the Lord and eventually multiplying for the Lord.
The Lord will judge both the righteous and the wicked. No one escapes judgment. It’s only a matter of whether those consequences will be positive or negative.
I have read this Psalm I don’t know how many times but your perspective gave me a different insight. I am in control of what I meditate on what I see and what I hear. Who I am can be affected by what I allow into my spirit. Thank you! Psalm 56:3-5 – When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I paise in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
