The season of Lent is here once again. And it comes at a good time for me personally as I seek to align myself even more with God’s intentions and purposes for my life. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been in a Bible study with several guys from church in the Gospel of John. In that time, I’ve been able to concentrate much on chapter 1. Last night’s study reminded me of John The Baptist’s role as the forerunner of Jesus. Twice in a matter of days, John The Baptist makes a declaration:

“Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” v29 and v36.

With today being Ash Wednesday, this verse is a good reminder that Jesus came for the sole reason of taking away my sin. I am a sinner in need of saving. I need to have my sin curse reversed. I need to be reminded that Christ has paid the ultimate price for my salvation. As I enter the Season of Lent, I want to invite you to take the journey as well.
