Obedience and Clarity

3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3.

If Adam and Eve would have simply obeyed they would have seen things much differently. However they were disobedient and then their eyes were opened to a completely different world. Thinking and reasoning have their place but it is important to remember that obedience to God needs to always be our first priority. Obedience leads to clarity of thought. Satan will seek to trip us up with having to figure things out before we obey but God is clear in what He says. We must simply obey what we know and things will be much clearer.

Faith and trust and obedience do not require us to figure things out beforehand nor understand how it is all going to work out. We cannot always wait to have unclouded thoughts to obey but complete obedience will clear up much of our thoughts and lead us with certainty closer to God. When we obey what we know things we don’t know or understand become clearer.
