Much More?

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? Matthew 6:30

We demonstrate little faith in God when we are not willing to wait for the “much more” He has for us by taking matters into our own hands. Because God doesn’t move as fast as we would like or in the direction we would prefer, we toil and spin in worrisome unbelief. All the while, our Heavenly Father is preparing fine dressings and clothing to give us! Isn’t it amazing how we would settle for tattered and holey jeans rather than a fine tailored suit all for comfort’s sake? Holey and not holy, control and not faith?

Jesus is speaking to His disciples here and talking about living by faith. He is instructing them about how regular people live: not by faith but sight. However He is calling His disciples to a different way of life; one marked by complete trust in God to meet needs because we know how much He cares for us. Our Heavenly Father wants us to trust that He will meet our needs and He will provide; it just may not be how we expect.

Much more? We cannot receive much more when are hands are filled with much less. Perhaps the “more” isn’t quantity but value? Is the Kingdom not more valuable, much more, than anything we are trying to hold onto? Matthew 6:33.

How are you at giving up control?

Do you worry when you should worship?

When is trusting God going to be your lifestyle?

How do you need to let go of much less so you can handle much more?
