Created For A Call

But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. Galatians 1:13-15

God has a plan and purpose for us from the moment we are conceived. This calling is not based on our gifting and calling, rather we are hand-crafted by God Himself to accomplish the mission He has for us. Your gifts and abilities are given to you to match His calling. We are uniquely put together for God’s purpose alone. When we get sidetracked in life using our gifts and abilities for less noble purposes we are dissatisfied. It is only when we do what we were created to do that we will find true joy and sustainable motivation through difficult times.

God will reveal Himself to me, thus saving me. Then He will reveal Himself through me by my sanctification. He is making me what I ought to be using His Spirit, His Word, His people, even surrounding circumstances to direct me to fulfilling His mission for my life. God is able to connect the dots when I am not able to see the whole picture. My part is to simply trust His judgment.

When the mission seems to be missing consult with God first. Seek first His Kingdom and be knowing Him when lost in the weeds of life. God wants us to know Him and accomplish His mission but let Him reveal Himself. Others cannot tell you what you were created for but only confirm it. God will make it clear when you are willing to listen and obey. Don’t ask others what you should do with your life; ask God and then let Him direct your steps. You may he surprised when His Call doesn’t make sense to you but leads you to a more direct dependence on Him instead of your gifts and abilities.

How have you been struggling with God’s call on your life?

Do you see how He has orchestrated events and people in your life to prepare you?

Are you trusting more in your gifts and abilities than in God?
