Paraphrase:

The will discipline His children out of love for them. Anyone who is a child of God can expect to be disciplined when out of God’s will.

Premise:

As a child that God loves, we should not be surprised that when we are out of step with our Heavenly Father that we will be disciplined. His discipline is out of love for us not from anger. He corrects us because He loves us and wants the best for us. It is important to give thanks for the correction we receive because it is an act of love and will prevent me from worse results as I learn from it.

Principle:

Discipline from God is an act of love.

God disciplines His children.

Discipline is used to correct and to teach us the right ways to live.

Ponder:

How have I experienced the discipline of the Lord?

How has that discipline changed my actions and thoughts?

Promise:

God will discipline His children when they are out of His will.

Practice:

Live within God’s Will.

Learn from the chastisement of the Lord.

Discipline myself so the Lord doesn’t have too.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank you for loving me enough to show me and teach me the right path to follow. Your correction is meant to help me have the best life possible. Help me to live in obedience and honor you in all I do. When I am wrong, help me to accept the discipline you give with thanks because you care for my soul.
