22 And after the birth of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and fathered other sons and daughters. 23 So Enoch’s life lasted 365 years. 24 Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him. Genesis 5:22-24
There are only two people who have never died: Elijah is one and Enoch, the other. What does it take to walk with God like that? That’s a New Zombie kind of walk, to be sure!
The Main Idea:
WALK with God and you will END UP with God.
Enoch walked with God. For 300 years, he walked with God. Everyday. Day in. Day out. Enoch walked with God. That’s a long time. This means that they walked together. He was aligned with God. They went everywhere, did everything, together. Their steps were in sync and it was certainly unique. And in the end it was Enoch walking with God everyday that caused God to take him.
We are not different just to be different. It’s our walk with God that makes us different. As Enoch was in step with God, he was most assuredly out of step with others around him but that’s the price one pays to be a new kind of Zombie. That difference of walking with God is what makes all the difference for the New Zombie. Walking with God everyday will lead us to our destiny, which is ultimately being with God forever.
Walking with God means that we become so much in step with Him and His ways that others lose sight of us and see God in us. We learn to move as He moves, striding in faith across waves sometimes, and across the land most times, but all times bearing our own cross.
Enoch didn’t die. But New Zombies don’t really either. In fact, death is really only a doorway into the next life. New Zombies live forever. Enoch walked with God for 365 years…He packed life into life!
